Nanny Placement Services
Our Story:
Sitter Select has a unique history and approach to finding a nanny for our families. Both Rachel and Rebekah, two of our three owners, found a great love in sitting for children throughout high school and university. Upon graduation, both moved into the professional nanny field. Rachel and Rebekah worked as live in nannies and live out nannies in NYC and Philadelphia area. The opportunity for them to integrate into a family and meet their needs was extremely rewarding for themselves and the children for whom they cared. This love of caring for children forms the foundation of Sitter Select as we want to pass on our knowledge from being employed to fitting your family with the best nanny candidate. Our experience from once being employed to now assisting families in finding the right fit give us exclusive insight as we have been on both sides.
As time has gone by managing Sitter Select, we found more and more families reaching out to us for nanny placements. With Rebekah and Rachel having extensive experience as both live in and live out nannies, Rachel being a mother and hiring her own nanny, we feel we are distinctly qualified to match nannies to families. We look forward to working with your family.
Nanny Placement Information:
All our nannies have updated CPR certifications, Pennsylvania child abuse clearances, National Sex Offender registry check, background checks, reference checks, and have been interviewed by one of our Sitter Select team members. Many of our nanny candidates have some college education along with extensive experience caring for children of varied ages.
We are a unique agency because we personalize each nanny search to fit the needs of the family. Let us connect you with a candidate who specifically meets the needs of your family through our personalized and trusted process. The family determines salary and we can happily give you the average salary and hourly rates that are comparable in the city to be competitive, helping you secure the best nanny for your
family within your budget. There is no recurring fee for placing a nanny. A one-time placement fee is paid once when your nanny starts his/her position with your family. Our one-time placement fee is 13.5 % of the nanny’s yearly salary.
Our Process:
Step 1:
Set up a phone conversation in which we identify all the needs of your family. We want to hear all about your family’s daily needs, duties required for your children, how many children and any other important information you want us to know to help us find the best candidate for your family. After our conversation we will send you a family agreement to start our nanny search. There is non-refundable $500 search fee. Should you hire a nanny candidate through Sitter Select, $250 of the search fee goes toward the placement fee. This search fee guarantees we will provide you with three candidates having the qualifications and experience you are seeking.
Step 2:
We will send you the resumes and cover letters of nanny candidates who meet your family’s requirements. We believe in quality versus quantity and will only send you qualified candidates.
Step 3:
The interview. We work diligently to coordinate a schedule allowing time for a phone interview, followed by an in-person interview. We can help facilitate the interview being in your home or in a public venue.
Step 4:
Trialing your nanny. This usually is a 4 to 8 hour day, which the family pays the nanny directly for their time. This is an important step as we want you to have time to get to know the nanny in your home.
Step 5:
We encourage open communication and clear guidelines for all nanny positions. We supply a family/ nanny agreement that we recommend all families use to help ensure the lines of communication are written out for both parties to sign and use as a reference regarding responsibilities, days off, overtime, vacation pay, etc. throughout the year.
Step 6:
You are ready to hire and choose a start date! Should you need assistance with a service to pay your nanny we have a list of payroll services we recommend.
